Programmable Laboratory Power Supplies

The programmable laboratory power supplies from TWINTEX are designed with low noise, high precision and cost performance, intended for bench-top applications. The power level ranges from 75W to 1500W and the voltage level ranges from 15V to 600V.

By output range, TWINTEX programmable laboratory power supplies are divided into three types: single-range, dual range and wide range.

In a single-range DC power supply, the voltage and current combination is determined by the rated voltage and current. Most conventional power supplies are single-range power supplies. For example, TWINTEX TPM-3005E is a single-range laboratory power supply with rated voltage of 30V and rated current of 5A. The maximum voltage is 30V, the maximum output current is 5A and the maximum output power is 150W. The voltage, current and power curves are shown in below figure.

In a dual-range DC power supply, two sets of voltage and current combinations are provided. Only one combination can be chosen and used at a time. For example, TWINTEX TPM-3005 offers two output ranges: low range 15V 6A 90W and high range 36V 3A 108W.

A wide-range DC power supply, also known as multi-ranging power supply or auto-ranging power supply, is a power supply whose voltage and current combination is determined by the rated power in addition to rated voltage and rated current. For example, TWINTEX PPA1500-300 is a wide-range laboratory power supply, with rated power of 1500W, rated voltage of 300V and rated current of 10A. Within its rated power 1500W, the maximum output current at the maximum voltage of 300V is 5A, and the maximum output voltage at the maximum current of 10A is 150V. The voltage, current and power curves are shown in below figure.

A wide-range DC power supply offers a larger, more flexible output range of voltage and current than conventional models. A single unit can cover a wide variety of voltage and current combinations, making it applicable to more applications. It’s becoming a trend of modern DC power supplies.
